Problem Note 31777: SAS Report does not show leading spaces in SAS® Enterprise Guide
When data with leading spaces has been read in by using the $CHAR. informat, and a List Data task is done on the resulting data set, leading spaces are not preserved in SAS Enterprise Guide when the result type is SAS Report. However, if you run a List Data task in the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office, then SAS Report does show the leading blanks.

SAS Report does not show leading spaces in SAS Enterprise Guide, but a SAS Report from the same data set does show leading spaces in the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office.
